Summative Curation Project

Hi! My name is Kris Jones, and I am a Family Support Specialist for ECEAP, a state-funded preschool program in Washington State.

With more than 30 years of experience in early education, and a parent of children with unique accommodation needs, I focus on family engagement by connecting families with inclusive community resources that meet their current needs and support their future success.

Through this website, I hope to extend that partnership to more families, children, and professional colleagues by publicly sharing free resources that support culturally responsive, inclusive, and professional practice, high quality early learning and intervention for building strong foundations and overall family health and well-being.

The carefully curated resources are organized into three domains—children, families and caregivers, and professional colleagues—and displayed as picture tiles for easy navigation.

Each domain includes well-researched, inclusive resources in two categories: Curriculum/Guidelines and Nonprofit Programs/Organizations. These categories offer ideas, tools, and support that promote access to high-quality early learning experiences.

The selected curricula, guidelines, nonprofit programs, and organizations listed in each domain were chosen because they align with the Washington State Early Learning and Development Guidelines, ECEAP Performance Standards, Washington State Child Care WACs, and NAEYC standards. They emphasize inclusive, developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, authentic, individualized, and tiered support across literacy/language arts, science, math, social-emotional development, art/creativity, and technology, with a strong commitment to serving marginalized families and helping to close the ever-widening achievement gap.

In addition, these curated resources support mental health and well-being, opportunities for connection, and professional development in each domain. I have used them personally, professionally, and have also shared them with colleagues and families who continue to use them as well. I know how difficult it can be to find resources that are truly inclusive, accessible, and empowering, and I welcome your feedback to help make this collection even stronger.
